From the desk of Servaas du Plessis
If you are reading this newsletter it means that you are most probably brimming with new physical and emotional energy now that the lockdown regulations are down to level 3.
Listening to the news and speaking to friends, I gather that the effects of the lockdown are starting to take its toll on the general population. Many people are starting to doubt the necessity of continuing with the lockdown and the reasonableness of some of the regulations. Many of us can’t wait to get out and continue with life as before COVID-19.
Reality is that life would never be the same as before the virus. We were all severely affected by the uncertainty during this time, but the lockdown offered us a wonderful opportunity to rethink our priorities, daily routine, actions, social activities and family time. We also had to think about our business. Unlike thousands of businesses in South Africa, we are privileged to have a financially stable company, thanks to the undying loyalty of our clients who are the reason for XTND’s existence.
XTNDers decided that it is not the lockdown circumstances that will determine our happiness and success, but rather our friendly countenance, the power of laughter and a smile that will change everyone’s experience during this difficult period. I am reminded of the ten principles of OG Mandino’s book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” and I thought I’d share a few extracts from the specific chapter dealing with the power of laughter with you.
